FairPrice Group recently joined CPF Board’s Communication & Engagement Group for a learning and development session exploring how organisations can build stronger customer connections in an increasingly omnichannel world.
During the session, Bryan Choong, General Manager of Retail Media and Omni-Commerce at FairPrice Group, shared perspectives from “From Channels to Connections: FPG’s Omnichannel Journey”, drawing on FairPrice Group’s experience in connecting customer understanding with physical and digital touchpoints.
Creating moments that matter
A key theme from Bryan’s sharing was that effective customer engagement is not simply about communicating what an organisation wants to say. It is about understanding the customer well enough to reach the right person, with the right message, at the right moment – when they are most ready to listen and engage.
That starts with understanding the customer journey: recognising the moments that matter, staying connected in between, and using each interaction to make the next one more relevant. When customer understanding guides when, where and how to engage, organisations can move beyond simply reaching customers to creating more meaningful interactions.
This customer-first approach is also reflected in FPG ADvantage, FairPrice Group’s retail media network. By bringing together first-party shopper insights with physical and digital touchpoints, it demonstrates how a more connected view of the customer journey can help brands engage customers at the right moments, create more relevant experiences and drive measurable outcomes.
More importantly, the value goes beyond a single interaction. By connecting engagement with outcomes and feeding those learnings into the next interaction, brands can continually deepen their understanding of customers and create more relevant experiences over time.
Making every connection count
Ultimately, the session reinforced that omnichannel is not about being everywhere, but about making every connection count. By starting with the customer and understanding when they are most ready to engage, organisations can create experiences that are more relevant, timely and meaningful.
Thank you to CPF Board for the opportunity to exchange perspectives and for an engaging discussion on the future of customer engagement.
